  • Join us as We Celebrate Gehazi’s International Runway Debut

I’m taking deep breaths and I am giving thanks for an incredible upcoming opportunity. Gehazi Collections will travel to Milan, Italy, this September. This is no ordinary trip. It is a dream come true. Gehazi Collections has been invited to participate in the Yes Brand Milano Fashion Show featuring the Beulah Cooley Collection. Cooley is a renowned fashion designer based in Detroit. Cooley has selected Gehazi designs to adorn her creations as they debut on an international runway. The upcoming Milano Fashion Week runs September 20-26. This prestigious event showcases the latest trends in the fashion industry, highlighting designers from around the world. It’s an opportunity to witness firsthand the creativity and innovation that defines the fashion world. Although Gehazi Collections has been sold in the U.S., Canada and 14 other countries, this will be our international runway debut. Past fashion week attendees have included fashion icons such as Anna Wintour, Karl Lagerfeld, and Victoria Beckham. After this event, add Beulah Cooley and Sandra Davis to that list. I am always humbled to work with the Cooley Collection and extremely thankful that I will accompany this talented designer on a whirlwind trip that also includes jaunts to Venice, Switzerland, Paris, and London. I can’t pack you in my suitcase, but I can keep you updated. Follow Gehazi Collections and the Beulah Cooley Collection on the web and social media channels as both teams capture highlights along the way. I am grateful, thankful, and ready to immerse myself in a world of glamour, style, and inspiration. As always, thank you for your continued encouragement and support! Photos above by Jas Ambrose.

  • Gehazi Collections Hit the Runway

In the studio, I'm confident. I should be. Sometimes the designs come so effortlessly, it feels like I'm cheating. This is my gift and I treasure its joy. Still, the design table and my jewelry stands don't reveal how these designs will look off the table. So, without fail, when my artwear settles on the perfect neck, ear lobes or wrist, I'm almost moved to tears. It's then I know that I'm living up to the Gehazi name that means valley of vision. On April 29, in Westland, Michigan, the mountain-top moments kept coming after beautiful and talented models walked the runway in fashion designer Beulah Cooley's From Detroit to Milan: Four Seasons of Fashion. Cooley's designs accessorized with Gehazi Collections made a magnificent match on the runway. In the end, Cooley posted on Facebook: "Gehazi Jewelry Collection is a statement for the Beulah Cooley Collection I thank God for this talented Jewelry Designer with all my heart and for making us shine... From the Team Beulah Cooley Collection of Fashion on the Runway 4/29/ 2023." Cooley's fashions are headed to Milan, Italy, in September. She has been invited to do a runway show there. Gehazi Collections will be with her. We will be a match perfect for Milan. I'll need to pack a bucket to catch the tears. • Beyond the Transactions, Relationships Make the Difference

About 15 years ago the first Gehazi site launched. Sales were good and I remember proudly telling my friend Stephanie Jo Peksen that I recalled the name of every customer. Stephanie told me, “That’s fine for now but one day you won’t remember every customer.” Honestly, that left me disappointed. I wasn’t sure I wanted that to happen. However, one name did stand out. Candace Gause of Ohio became a regular customer. When one iteration of the site updated, she always reappeared. She has no idea how happy I was to see her name again and again and even in December when the rebranded Gehazi site launched. Recently, Ms. Gause shopped with us again. This time, she was disappointed because earrings she ordered arrived damaged, and we sent the wrong earrings. I was mortified. Yes. sometimes there are mix-ups and sometimes items shift during shipping. Not often, but it happens. No matter what, customer service is a high priority and I always appreciate the chance to set it right. I apologized and instructed her on how to make a simple adjustment to get the disassembled earring back in shape. And I told her I would get the right earrings in the mail to her. I also thanked her for the longtime support and encouraged her to send a photo wearing something she had purchased. Right away she did just that. I realized that the two of us had established a relationship spanning at least 15 years, but had never really been introduced to one another. Ms. Gause, a beautiful woman with a bright warm smile, looked amazing in her new Gehazi earrings. I sent her a photo of me, then I stopped for a moment realizing the significance of it all. What happened was a hallmark Gehazi moment. It was a reminder of why customer service is a strong value in this company’s culture, and why it’s important to make all our encounters count beyond the transaction. In the end, it’s what keeps me going and keeps me in the studio making pieces with my customers in mind. Ms. Gause and I now are properly introduced. I think even Stephanie Jo will be proud that customer service is still a priority for me and that I still remember some of my customers, especially the original Gehazi Rock Stars who keep coming back.

  • CanvasRebel Magazine says: Meet Sandra Davis

By now, you might have heard of Gehazi's Rockstar CEO, Sandra Davis. Maybe you've met her in person, or followed her journey here or on social media. Regardless, there is always more to learn about the artist, and what drives her processes and creations. Recently, Sandra’s mastery popped up on the CanvasRebel Magazine radar and the result is an interview that we are proud to share with you. The magazine says "Our stories are often hard to understand until folks understand our true motivations, our true drivers and the stories behind why our mission or purpose truly matters to us. We’ve asked some inspiring folks from the community to talk to us about why they do what they do and have shared some of our favorite responses…." Make sure to look and let us know what you think! • Where are the new Gehazi pieces?

In a perfect world, every time you visit a website, there is something new to catch your attention. As a consumer, I certainly get it. As an artist, it’s a different story. When you are can’t find the NEW Gehazi pieces. It’s because they are still in my head stuck somewhere between what-do-I-create-next and I-just-want-to-go-back-to-bed. I certainly do wish my creative process was more predictable, and collections popped online seasonally or on some regular rotation most people expect in the fashion accessory industry. Except it doesn’t happen like that. Artists can have creative spurts and those days when cooking dinner and trending to dirty laundry gets the priority. And then, there are the days when self-care is high on the agenda. That’s a priority I don’t ignore because it’s a key ingredient to nurturing my soul and my creative spirit. That time away from the beads and wires births new ideas in my head and delivers the inspiration for fresh, new designs. I thrive on that inspiration, and that creative spirit that transfers those ideas and musings from my head to my design table. Today, I am happy to report that if you’re looking for the new Gehazi pieces, you’re in luck. With our new Rock Steady collection, you can drape yourself in confidence with fun, eclectic pieces featuring bold gemstones that astound in all sizes, textures add fabulosity. And we continue to change the flavor and the game with our stylish and trendy mahjong pieces that always make you a winner. Make sure to look and let us know what you think!

  • Sandra's Favorites - Vol.1

Copper Canyon Necklace Set I love color. If it is bright and bold and it gets my attention. Still, I cannot resist sultry earth-tones. There is something soothing, almost spiritual about them. I created this necklace set with that in mind. It is borne out of a moment of reflection. A moment when I felt grounded and felt led by the valley of vision. The necklace set is 40" of cascading freshwater pearls, glass beads, seed beads and pewter in a range of brown, yellow and orange hues. The pendant is hand-wrapped slab agate with batik bone beads, glass, and horn. It is fine to let it hang and flow, or wrap it for a layered look. Earrings drop about 3" inches. Necklace finished with a smart pewter toggle clasp. This is an original design and one of a kind, as many of the designs out of my studio.I would wear this set anytime of the year, but is something very empowering with welcoming fall draped in the hues that the season brings. (Click here to purchase your very own set!) Bodacious Brown and Black Necklace Set Expect the unexpected. That is what makes Gehazi pieces so special. The beautiful large agates in the Gehazi Bodacious Brown Necklace Set sat on my design table for the longest times. I would just look at them and marvel at the form, and sometimes hold it tightly until the warmth from my skin soaked in the stone. I knew they needed something special and something a little extra that would not compete with their charm. That is exactly what happened when this set was finished. It takes what would be an ordinary neutral necklace to a different level. Here, the neutrals are alive and banging in this Gehazi 18" necklace with matching earrings. Necklace is comprised of stunning spotted agate (you rarely see these), faceted onyx, Swarovski crystals, sterling silver and Czech glass. The golden glass beads are the unpredicted here that add an extra layer of warmth and magic. What the large stones carry in weight is nothing compared to their uniqueness. Earrings are 1 1/2" with sterling silver lever-back hooks. Go bold, wear this with red and you will set it off! This is truly a Gehazi Rock Star! (Click here to view this set up close and personal) Radiant Earth Necklace Set I’m a Florida girl who had made Michigan my home. One of the reasons is that I am absolutely in love with being able to experience four beautiful and distinct seasons. Fall probably tops that list, so it is no wonder that the Gehazi Radiant Earth Necklace Set is imbued with rich colors that capture the spirit of the season. The colors warm me and the texture adds an artistic element that sets it apart from the department store accessory mass produced without thought to the little touches that make jewelry stand out. The set reminds me of green leaves turning bright red before abandoning their branches and decorating ground. This is a gorgeous collection of Czech glass beads, Swarovski crystals and gold beads in a 18" necklace with a 4" drop. There is delicacy and boldness in the brown, red, pink, and gold hues. the hand-wrapped pendant features 18K gold chain and a beautiful fossil stone. Necklace is finished in gold chain and a gold lobster claw clasp. Matching earrings are 3" long. It was created in my head as I pondered the changing fall season and the joy it brings to me to be able to embrace those perfect radiant hues. (Click here to view this set up close and personal)

  • This Is Why I Create Wearable Art

I create wearable art and the process itself brings me enormous joy. Even better is when my pieces resonate with others, whether they are friends or strangers. It feels magical. I feel that the heavens have opened and poured out a special blessing just for me when someone connects with a piece I have created. If I’m lucky, I see it happen right before my eyes. Maybe it’s the way colors complement a skin tone or how a piece settles around a neck or wrist. Sometimes it is just seeing a pair of earrings dangle and reflect the light in a way I did not expect. Recently, two customers reminded me why I love making these pieces and why I chose the name Gehazi, which means valley of vision. Michelle Parikh, of Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan, recently purchased the Gehazi Daring Garnet Bracelet Set and later asked me to create a matching necklace. The red and green garnet colors meant something special to her. She said: “My kids are born in January and August. When I saw it, I knew you made it for me. They are also my sorority colors. Thank you for making the perfect set.” I didn’t understand how special this was until I saw Michelle in person wearing the set. She was right. It was made for her. It even matched a ring she was wearing. She radiated with those colors. As this happened, Jill Richter of Grosse Pointe Park, saw our Gehazi Memories Locket Necklace Set online as part of our 2022 Spring/Summer Collection and she ordered it. She said she had put it in her shopping cart three times and finally could not bear the thought of not making the order. She said she feared it she delayed another customer would snatch it up as so frequently happens with our one-of-a-kind pieces. The reason, she said: “I miss my only child while she is now living away at school. Her picture is going inside.” I thought about both women. It hit me. My hear melted. Tears flowed. This is why I do it. This is the sway of Gehazi. This is what keeps me going. I am thankful for the gift to create and grateful for the buyers who allow Gehazi to become part of the fabric of their lives. Thank you, Michelle and Jill, this inspiration makes it all worthwhile.
